Description:

a consumer goods brand focused on revitalizing a category that has kept itself mundane, rooted in legacy, and reliant “all natural” aesthetics - which makes it hard to stand out

inspiration

While taking a solo trip to Mexico City in 2023 (a “last trip” before I started culinary school), I visited the Museo Soumaya, a museum with an art collection of over 66,000 works, both Mexican and European artists.

 

On the third (or maybe fourth) floor of the museum, I came across a statue entitled Ninfas by Vittotorio Caradossi, of two angelic “nymphs” swirling around each other. The statue inspired a pause for its design and beauty, but also inspired an appreciation in that moment for the divine feminine.

 

Diving deeper into my knowledge of “nymphs” in myth and lore, I began to envision Ninfas as a brand representing the modern, free-spirited, bombastic, and alluring femme, understanding in their natural beauty but elevated through the “magic” of intensity.

 

And then, the connection to preserves and jammed-fruits became clearer; taking naturally delicious, universally-used, and a “blank-canvas-of-a-product” typically associated with a “housewife” or “domestic” lens and bringing it into a more exploratory, elevated, and enticing form.

the Ninfas logo was made in the style of punk rock defiance, a hand-written script that drew on the bombastic spirit and rebellion of the brand. The contrasting to the product itself (i.e. jelly and jam) is a pure illustration of what the brand means: balance, unexpectedness, and authenticity. Pretty and feminine and dark and bold.

a Ninf/Nymf/Nimf is a “natural” badass - no copying, no cosplaying, no imitation. They’re innate sense of self and aesthetic make them stand out and invigorate those that see them. Akin to a “siren” in the modern and mythic understanding of the term.

featuring numerous flavors of fruits/berries/ vegetation that create a “swirl” or harmonious combination within the bottle, providing varying flavor experiences depending on the exact retrieval of the product

ice meets fire, hot meets cold, the cooling and lush sensation of strawberry with a spark or tang of kiwi

blending natural world elements into the spacial design itself would lend to a very organic photo-capturing opportunity of the product with its target personas with a very brand-world representative backdrop
